Dr. Rumi is a seasoned serial entrepreneur with over three decades of innovative work in the social sector. Fuelled by a deep belief in unlocking the potential at the base of the pyramid, Rumi Co-founded SAFAL with late-Raj Iyer in 2005 to drive skill development, mass entrepreneurship, and employment. An Alumni of IIM Bangalore in entrepreneurship development and PG in Sericulture.

Dr. Rumi’s core strength lies in crafting innovative solutions that ensure the organization's sustainability, consistently developing unique models tailored to meet the evolving needs of the skills required for employability and employment. After more than two decades of impactful work in skilling, Rumi expanded her expertise into research. She earned a PhD for her ground breaking study on the National Skill Qualification Framework, analysing its impact on employability among secondary and higher secondary students.

Dr. Rumi’s vision is to revolutionize education with a strong focus on application-based learning. She believes empowering comprehensive support to foster mass entrepreneurship and gig economy can lead to more employment opportunities. Her unwavering commitment is to empower individuals to transform their lives through skills and enterprise.

Dr. Rumi is a passionate advocate for sustainable solutions, dedicated to combating climate change through innovative green energy initiatives.

Shrihari has over 25 years of experience in varied sectors such as development banking, equity investments, and corporate finance in social impact sectors. He began his career in 1991 with SIDBI and later with SIDBI Venture Capital wherein he worked in sectors such as NBFCs, microfinance, technology development and modernization in SME clusters, infrastructure lending, life sciences, to name a few.

For a period of five years, Shrihari was part of an entity that offered e-governance and various other IT-enabled G2C/private services throughout the state of Karnataka. He has also worked for a company that installs and operates renewable energy–based mini-grids in rural parts of North India. Prior to joining Unitus Capital, Shrihari was associated with a water treatment company that provided treated drinking water to villages in South India.

Shrihari holds a BTech degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from IIM-Ahmedabad. He is also a Chevening Scholar from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Chaitra Mukund, is the Director, Vijaya Seamless Containers Pvt Ltd. She brings a strong finance acumen to SAFAL’s work. Her passion for public service shines through in the voluntary work she does with several NGOs, especially within the community projects as a dedicated Rotarian. She has also passionately curated all-women trips to explore unique ethno-cultural destinations. She balances all of this with her fun-loving and extroverted nature, where she effortlessly blends professionalism, passion, and play in everything she does.

Meet Prasad Patole, the Co-Founder and CEO of Rewardwale, the visionary force behind India's first video platform that adds value for both users and merchants/brands through shared product and service experiences. With a resolute vision to construct the nation's most trustworthy and engaging platform, Prasad orchestrates business strategy, revenue growth, fundraising, and team building initiatives across India.

Not just a leader in the tech-business realm in Intel & IBM, Prasad is also an accomplished author, having penned the influential book "Automation - Past, Present, and Future," a global sensation available in 34 countries. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, Prasad brings over 19 years of expertise in steering technology transformations, managing business units, and nurturing customer relationships on a global scale. Prasad is currently writing his second book which will be published in February 2025.

Prasad has also been on NDTV forums for discussions regarding startup economy and budgets. In an inspiring stint at Edutrace Solutions, he co-founded & led delivery of skill trainings to students based in rural India has made him a valuable asset to SAFAL.
